Review of Manifesto for a Cancer Patient
Manifesto for a Cancer Patient by, Colleen Huber, is a book that focuses on Medicine and the studies of cancer. It explores the origins, causes and behavioral issues associated with the disease. The author of the book is a Naturopathic Medical Doctor and a licensed physician who is based in Arizona, and only uses natural treatments to combat cancer and other diseases. The author does not believe in chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery, and prefers a more traditional organic natural approach towards fighting diseases. However, Dr Huber does occasionally work with surgeons, oncologists, and cancer specialists if patients request them.
What I liked about this book, is how blunt and unfiltered it is about issues that are happening in the medical industry. It exposes how professionals in the medical field are exploiting cancer patients and making large profits off them. It is unfortunate that many cancer patients are unaware that there are much safer alternatives out there, than what they are made to believe. Instead millions worth of advertising is spent on chemotherapy. Most people are already familiar with the idea of chemotherapy, which makes Dr Huber's approach harder to navigate around, as most people are unfamiliar with the idea of natural treatments. Untrodden territories such as natural treatments, are less popular and often need more explanation, whereas chemotherapy is more mainstream and experiences less hesitation and pushback, making people naturally gravitate towards it more. We may all have our opinions and feelings about such topics, but one thing I've discovered in life is that numbers do not lie. The book exposes that major pharmaceutical companies with government alliances, promote some of the most dangerous pharmaceuticals, as if they were the only alternatives to people's medical issues. What's even more shocking is that these pharmaceuticals were properly prescribed. The book further exposes how 14128,000 Americans die from properly prescribed pharmaceuticals each year. These numbers can be verified by the FDA. What's even more shocking is that, this number surpasses the amount of all people who have died in World War I, or all the people who died in the Vietnam War. It's a tough pill to swallow, and pretty hard to believe.
As we dive further into the book, we soon discover that things are starting to take an unexpected turn in the medical industry, as more insurance companies are starting to support natural treatments, as they are less expensive and save them a lot of money in comparison to mainstream medicine. I see this as a good thing, as it gives people more opportunities to explore other alternatives without having to worry about the medical costs. Looking at how corrupt the industry is, it on not surprising that many patients are falsely diagnosed with diseases that are non-existent. A topic that I found to be of fascinating discovery in this book, is the correlation between personality types and chemotherapy diagnosis. The book touches on how most passive, submissive, highly-agreeable, low-assertive, soft-spoken, less domineering personality types, walked into their clinic reporting having cancer. This suggests that cancer has a personality type that it goes for, when in actuality, these personality types are just the target market of these corrupt pharmaceutical companies, as these type of people are more likely "yes" people and will agree and listen to anything the Pathologists say. Pathologists, most of the time are the actual decision makers. If they diagnos a patient with cancer, the hospital easily stands to gain up to $150.0000 off one single patient from chemotherapy alone. The book exposes that some Pathologists falsely diagnose patients in order to make money. The book also exposes how shady some hospitals are, when reacting the census of numbers of patients in hospitals. When the census is high, doctors can easily tell their patients to go home, as their medical issue is not a big deal, and that they can heal on their own, but when the census is low, the smallest of medical issues are made out to be a big deal and need to be attended to urgently. How much of a coincidence is that?
I give this book a 3 out of 4 stars. It was exceptionally well-written and well-edited. It exposed, educated, and informed us of the dark side of the medical industry, and the type of things to look out for. I recommend this book for anyone who wants to further educate themselves about cancer and its origins, anyone looking for alternative ways of dealing with diseases, and I also recommend it for anyone who is curious about natural treatments or the corruption happening in the medical industry.
