In Plain Sight by Susan Mallett delves into the events of 2022, providing a comprehensive account of significant occurrences. The book meticulously explores the emergence and impact of the Omicron variant of COVID-19, particularly in countries like the United Kingdom. Additionally, it sheds light on the Russia-Ukraine war, delving into its origins and the far-reaching consequences it had on the global stage. Notably, the book also delves into the intricate realm of UK politics, unveiling a myriad of fascinating insights. With such a wide range of topics covered, this book is a must-read for those seeking a deeper understanding of the events that unfolded in 2022.

I truly appreciated the educational value that this book brought to the table. It managed to present complex information in a manner that was both detailed and accessible, making it easy to comprehend. Through its pages, I gained extensive knowledge about the political landscape of the United Kingdom, the profound impact of the Omicron variant on both the UK and global economy, and the underlying catalysts behind the Russia-Ukraine conflict. It was truly enlightening, exposing me to numerous events that had previously escaped my awareness.

However, I must express my disappointment in the book's writing style. Additionally, I found the author's use of the term "Sleepy Joe" when referring to President Joe Biden rather off-putting, regardless of the author's intentions. I believe the book would have been better served by omitting or replacing this term, as it detracts from the overall quality. Nevertheless, aside from these two drawbacks, I did not encounter any other notable negatives.

Considering the aforementioned aspects, I rate this book 3 out of 5 stars. The two aforementioned downsides significantly dampened my overall experience. However, it is worth noting that the book was meticulously edited, devoid of any errors. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone interested in gaining insights into the pivotal events that unfolded throughout 2022.

The events that happened that year were so many. I didn't realize that until I had a copy of this book. I wanted to dig more and more. Mallet did a perfect job.

Russian-Ukraine war was such a topic. It almost brought the world to a standstill. I used to get updated everyday. To find out someone wrote about it and how it developed, was so interesting.
