As Theodil rolls the dice on the table in front of a committee, dots appear in awe of the committee, which calls them zots. The zots are boundless and have no sense of direction. As they collide, they increase in size, forming mega zots, and under Theodil's craftsmanship, he creates noodles from the zots, which they call xoodles. Thus begins the creation of the base of a universe in Of Zots and Xoodles: Theodil Creates a Universe by Zarqnon the Embarrassed.

One of the exciting aspects of this book, along with the writing, is the illustrations. They were done by Frank Louis Allen, who is on the autism spectrum, just like the author. They may seem complicated but are easy to distinguish once you read the book. At the beginning of the book, the illustrator explains what set him on the journey of art. The language used says a lot in very few words. The book is short but contains enough information on the creation of a universe and its observers.

I was able to learn many lessons concerning life by reading this book. One of the things that was clear in the building of this universe was the question, "What does it take to grow?" Theodil's universe seems timeless at the beginning. I love how the zots' fate is described as inevitable, and the vividly described imagery depicts this. The conversations in this book answer many questions concerning Theodil and the committee. As the creation progresses, they lessen as the group seems to learn a little.

There is nothing I disliked in this book. I, therefore, rate Of Zots and Xoodles: Theodil Creates a Universe by Zarqnon the Embarrassed 5 out of 5 stars. I was fascinated by the author's autistic background and his experience in many fields. I fell in love with the questions the book elicited. How he chose the name Zarqnon the Embarrassed is amazing, and anyone who reads this book will appreciate it. I did not notice any errors in the book, and I commend the perfect editing.

In conclusion, anyone who loves science and is interested in the creation of the universe will love this book. It may not be suitable for people not conversant with advanced word building. It is a beautiful text when understood. "Why do it the expected way?" is a phrase Theodil uses in the introduction that resonates with me. This is an excellent mentality to tackle everyday challenges. Everyone should read and learn from the author.

I have seen the illustrations and am also very impressed. I am in awe of anyone who can create something, anything, from nothing. Especially something so well done.

I realized that looking at the illustrations long enough finally made sense. It just requires a little patience.
