Review of The Fox
The Fox follows the captivating journey of Prince Leotychides. In his early years, Leo's father was frequently away, engaged in battles that left little room for a paternal presence. This absence led to Leo growing up with an unquenchable curiosity about his father's sentiments, as the king remained indifferent to his existence. Nurtured by the devoted care of his mother, Queen Timaia, and guided by his uncle, King Pausanios, Leo's quest for paternal affection remained unanswered.
Choosing an unconventional path, Leo’ opts out of the royal upbringing he was entitled to. Instead, he joins a flock. Life within a flock proves rigorous, as they undergo disciplined training that molds them into formidable warriors by the time they reach twenty. This training, paramount to forging honorable men, encompasses not only combat skills but also principles that define their character.
Amidst this transformative journey, Leo's fate remains uncertain. The looming question of his legitimacy divides public opinion. Some foresee him ascending to the throne, destined to rule as king, while others vehemently oppose this notion.
When I started reading the book, I found the sentences complex. I was bored, but I kept reading as the story felt captivating. The more I proceeded through the chapters, the more I got to understand these sentences. And by the time I was reading the final third of the book, it became simpler.
The Fox oozes with a lot of wisdom. A quote that I picked from the book states that "Nothing is less convincing than simple truth". As I went through thought-provoking phrases, I kept nodding in agreement and understanding as I noted them down.
In conclusion, I rate The Fox four out of five stars. I had to deduct one star because the book does contain errors. There was nothing negative to say about the book. Are you an enthusiast of ancient Greek stories? Battles? I will also recommend The Fox to people interested in acquiring wise quotes or fortifying their courage and confidence.

“In the darkness, two shadows, reaching through the hopeless, heavy dusk. Their hands meet, and light spills in a flood like a hundred golden urns pouring out of the sun.” ― Madeline Miller, The Song of Achilles
