Review of The Elf Coup - Book Three of the Magi Charter
Santa Nicholas and the newly made Mrs Claus had been on their around-the-world honeymoon trip when that dreadful letter arrived at the North Pole. The anxious department heads sent out a special team to retrieve the pair, but no word was received from either Santa or the team. With Santa Christo lost in the human world, Mistletoe Green decides that this is the perfect time for him to put into action the plan he has long since prepared. A plan that would put him in a position of power at the North Pole. While Mistletoe runs after his ambitious dream, the creature named Krampus starts abducting elves. With all that is happening, it seems this year’s Mission itself is threatened.
The Elf Coup: Book Three of the Magi Charter written by Jordan David is the third book in its series. The series itself follows all the changes and adaptations that had to be made by the Santa and elves across the years so as to make the Mission possible. For the inhabitants of the North Pole, this year has been quite eventful. Faced with threats from both outside and within the Complex, the elves were lost without Santa to lead them.
I personally feel that the series gets better with each book. The story kept developing in ways I never thought of and left me curious than ever to know what happens next. There have been quite a few revelations within the book, most of which took me completely by surprise. At times, I felt that I was on a quest to discover the secrets of the Complex just like Noel, our main protagonist. With this book, I also got a better understanding of elfin nature and the history of North Pole Complex.
Similar to the last book in the series, the author maintains a thin line where he provides just enough information to satisfy my curiosity but not so much that I lose interest altogether. There were instances where the book was narrated from the point of view of other characters beside Noel. This was something I enjoyed, and I often found myself getting anxious or excited on behalf of those characters.
As a whole, the book was a great read. Despite its many positives, the book had one major fault, the errors. These were mostly just spelling errors that could have been corrected with a round of editing. However, they were spread throughout the book and kept disrupting my reading. As a result, I will be rating the book a 3 out of 4 stars. I recommend this book to readers of fantasy and adventure. As the book is part of a series, I believe it would be best to read the other two books before getting into this one.

You will probably need to read the first two books to a get a proper understanding of this one.Jennifer Coxon wrote: ↑03 Oct 2023, 16:53 Great review. I wasn't expecting it to be about Santa’s Elves just from the title, but that makes the book sound even more interesting to me. It sounds like you have also read the earlier books in the series. I think I would need to start at the beginning myself. The books sound like a lot of fun.
The book was a lot of fun, and if you get to read it I hope you enjoy it.
