American Dream? A novel by Jeoung Lee is a compelling piece of fiction inspired by actual events. There are two settings in the novel, one in Kirkland, Washington, and the other in Gwangju, South Korea. While the story's protagonist struggles to overcome a pandemic and a political crisis, Hanel Kim must overcome several obstacles. Chaos occurs from the General Jun administration's careless management, which is made worse by the ongoing pandemic. Hanel, her relatives, and other city residents become embroiled in numerous alterations while militia protests and student demonstrations against the politicians occur in the chaos.

Hanel has even more challenges while seeking asylum in the USA, notably at her job where profit is prioritized before patient safety. She also encounters racial prejudice and observes unethical behavior in a place designed to save lives. Hanel exhibits moral integrity throughout the story by responding to these challenges in remarkable ways.

In the intricate network of stories and characters in the book, Hanel stands out as a source of inspiration. The reader has a clear picture in their head of her unwavering dedication to defending pandemic victims, her brother Daehan's bravery in standing up for what is right, and the help of their friends Yusung and Mira.

The novel’s message encourages readers to stand up for morals despite the simple premise. When it comes to affection, the book excels on many levels. The author's exceptional storytelling abilities and the development of characters and the events described are both realistic and thought-provoking.

I highly suggest this book, especially for aspiring nurses thinking about running within the United States or people with a desire of becoming nurses, because it offers treasured insights. For fiction lovers and people intrigued by "American Dream" by Jeoung Lee is a captivating work of fiction that draws inspiration from real-life events. The novel is set in Kirkland, Washington, and Gwangju, South Korea. The story's protagonist faces numerous challenges as they try to overcome a pandemic and political crisis, while Hanel Kim also struggles to navigate through difficult circumstances.

The book's skillful portrayal of sorrowful memories of a past pandemic as a compelling narrative prompts reflections on the current COVID-19 outbreak and the lives lost. Among the novel's intricate network of characters and stories, Hanel shines as a beacon of hope, with her brother, Daehan's bravery, and the help of friends Yusung and Mira.

Furthermore, the well-established plot makes it a valuable resource for language novices, supplying publicity to both English and Korean languages. It is exceptionally well-edited and error-free due to its meticulous editing, ensuring an enjoyable reading expertise. I want to rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because there is nothing that I dislike about this book.

This reminds me of a book that I recently read, “Contagion Conspiracy.” While there were definite differences, it dealt with a pandemic and a foreign (to America) researcher’s unwilling complicity. These types of books are some of y favorite. Thanks!
