In this historical geography book, Farhana Qazi shares the history of the seventy year war between India and Pakistan and how the trauma and tragedy has affected the women in their struggle to survive. "Awareness is the first step to change," she states, as she hopes to educate her readers. Thank you for the helpful book review.

This book is more than simply a great story; it's emotional and educational as well. The resilience that humans may exhibit when it's necessary to survive is astounding. Knowing the effects of war and the number of innocent people who suffer because of the aspirations of a select few is heartbreaking.

Agree completely with the review’s depiction of the author’s meticulous research, and I was moved by the opening line of the book (paraphrasing), it’s a romantic place of smashed together plates … she can really write!

I appreciate that the author is bringing awareness to the people of Kashmir even though I must admit I don't know where Kashmir is. I also don't read nonfiction, so I'll pass on this book.

In the world we live in now, seeing someone apply fairness to everything they do is really hard to come by. So I'm glad there's a book preaching that today, it'll remind readers that fairness is still worth it!
