“Halloween with Snowman Paul” by Yossi Lapid is one of the best books to keep the children happy for Halloween. This was my first book from the children's category. I was a bit skeptical before reading it, but I loved the book in the end.

What I liked the most in this book is that the story revolves around a series of entertaining warnings: "Don't dare come near this tree house. Don't even risk a glance. But if you do, we're warning you: There is no second chance!" These warnings create suspense and a sense of curiosity among the children. There are several playful warnings in the book, like climbing a ladder might mean getting snatched by a dragon, stepping past a doorpost could result in a witch turning you into a mouse, and so on, and all these are part of a playful Halloween adventure, and by the end, kids realize that there’s nothing to fear—just fun surprises and sweet treats.

The repeated use of "Don't dare..." sentences is successful in catching the attention of the children. The story is brought to life by Joanna Pasek's vivid and vibrant pictures. Dragons and ghosts, the most frightening subjects, are shown in a way that makes them seem more amusing than frightening. The book beautifully balances Halloween spookiness with kid-friendly enjoyment; this book is suitable for even the youngest readers.

The only thing that I disliked in this book is that it was short. The book will be loved most by toddlers and preschoolers for its short length, while somewhat older children who prefer longer, more intricate stories may want a little more excitement. I can 100% say that the children will love to read this book again and again because of the colorful rhymes, simple language, and vibrant visuals that are used in the book.

I rate this book 5 out of 5, as it was flawlessly edited, and I did not come across any errors. Parents who are looking for a good bedtime book for their children should definitely consider buying it.
