In It Together: The Beautiful Struggle Uniting Us All by Eckhart Aurelius Hughes is a philosophical book that teaches about self-love, consciousness, the struggles that come with choosing to do good or bad, how to free your spirit and manifest your love, and generally common struggles we face as humans. The author takes us on a thought-provoking journey into the heart of human behavior where we explore morality coupled with the complexities of human experience.

This is my first philosophical book, so it was a bit challenging to read, but as time went on, I quickly got a grasp of it. I loved how detailed the author was in his explanation. He took into cognizance that a lot of people may not be well versed in understanding some philosophical concepts of life, so he went the extra mile of breaking down these concepts into simpler forms and using real-life experiences to buttress his points, which, in my opinion, added to the richness of this book. His writing style is evocative and engaging, seamlessly blending the use of various literary devices but still keeping his language simple and concise. This book is packed with vast knowledge and lessons, and I had a lot of things to learn, but two quotes that really resonated with me are ”True love is not sacrificing your happiness for another; true love is being happy to sacrifice.“ and "You do not truly know someone until you fight them." I couldn’t help but agree with the author on this.

I rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars. I enjoyed reading the book, and I found nothing worthy of dislike. The editing was flawless, as I found no grammatical errors in my course of reading, which allowed for a seamless experience. I recommend this book to those interested in self-help books with a blend of philosophical knowledge. It is packed with lots of wisdom.
