The book “Keys to Harmony” by Margalit Jakob tells the story of the author's life as she struggles with depression.

The book begins with the author relocating to Israel to join her dream school in order to pursue her dream course. She was filled with positivity and happiness as she went for the auditions, but this didn't last as her dreams were shattered. From there, all she could remember was darkness. She took that incident lightly and went on with her life, but something felt off, though she couldn't say exactly what. She went on living in darkness and sadness. She even stopped doing what she loved the most, not because she didn't want to, but because she didn't understand why. This continued into her marriage and even after the birth of her children.

What I really admired about the author is that she finally admitted to having a problem, identified the help she needed, and accepted it despite society's harsh judgment. This made me think about how many of us are going through a lot, and yet, instead of seeking help, we don't admit we have problems. We see that as a sign of weakness and worry about what society will say if it finds out. In this book, the author shows us that it's not wrong to seek help. You're not weak for admitting you have a problem and reaching out; you're simply doing what's best for you.

The book's writing style is remarkable because it's simple and easy to understand. I really liked how she brought out the aspect of antidepressants and how, maybe at times, you may think one psychologist is right for you when actually it's the other. She addresses many aspects of depression that society is not yet ready to talk about. Because of that, I rate the book 5 out of 5 stars. There's nothing I dislike about this book. It's professionally edited, as I did not see any grammatical errors.

This is a great book that I highly recommend to anyone who's going through a lot or has lost hope or feels like giving up. It may shed some light on their life.
