Review of WatchDogs Abnormal Beginnings
Are you a fan of action-packed adventure novels? If so, this is the novel for you. By reading this novel, you will delve deep into a supernatural world of abnormal species. Watchdogs: Abnormal Beginnings by Mike L. Junior is a novel set in a post-apocalyptic future, where it is survival of the fittest, and only the strongest make it out alive.
The novel begins with two characters, Kaarina and Lamont, who are on the run from three men through the forest. Both of them wanted due to their abnormal abilities. When they’re finally able to breathe, Kaarina, who happens to be Monty’s guardian, begins to explain to him how the world was before and the events that led to the present. Kaarina and Monty meet other abnormals also being hunted for different reasons. New relationships form, and friendships are destroyed and built amongst the newly formed group of these individuals. However, every one of these individuals has a dark past that has led them to be how they are, and it doesn’t help that the world has also changed for the worst. Will these individuals survive through all this and come out victorious in the end? There is only one way to find out!
As someone who loves adventure, I loved reading about the places mentioned in the book. I also loved learning about the events before the apocalypse and what led to it. I also loved eventually finding out the meaning behind the book’s title. I loved how each character portrayed their different abnormalities. I found that special as those abilities came in handy when the owners needed them.
However, as much as I loved reading the book, I encountered a few things I disliked. There were areas in the book where I found the English language used in the directed speech difficult to understand. That made it a bit difficult for me to pinpoint grammatical errors. Moreover, the book included profanity, and not being a fan of such, I felt displeased. The book also had a lot of grammatical errors that had me gritting my teeth several times.
The book deserves a rating of 3 out of 5 stars because of the grammatical errors I have encountered that have led me to believe the book did not undergo professional editing. It could do with another round of editing. If not for the poor editing, I would have awarded it a perfect five out of five rating. I recommend the novel to readers who prefer an adventure filled with thrilling action. Moreover, the book is most suitable for mature readers because it contains profanity and some sexual scenes.

Now I am in a kinda dilemma of what to believe if the book does have errors or not.

Hi @kimarijohn Thank you for taking your time to reply to this. The book does have errors, significant ones, but I am not sure if perhaps the author has rectified that or not. Believe me, I wouldn't have rated it that way if the errors were only in the beginning.kimarijohn wrote: ↑14 Apr 2025, 04:07 I got a chance to read the book, but the errors and mistakes made it so hard for me to read that I had to stop. However, I came across some other review before yours that didn't mention the presence of errors, which made me think that maybe the errors were just a few in the beginning and perhaps intentional.
