Review of Cross Intents
The book Cross Intents The Battle by S.R. Wells is the final book in the Cross Intents trilogy. The book is very well written and presents an exciting closure for the series—Birth, Baptism, and Battle. The author ends the series with the spiritual and physical battle waged when Jesus suffers on the cross for the sins of the world. The author does a good job of providing closure for the journeys of each character.
The author begins the book with Jesus being tempted by Satan in the desert and depicts a wonderful picture of the angels ministering to Jesus in His weakened physical state. The author continues to create a compelling story portraying the life and ministry of Jesus on earth. The author transports the reader through Jesus choosing the disciples, performing miracles, rising from the dead, and appearing to confused and broken people.
The book continues the creative depiction of interaction between the spiritual and physical worlds. The author portrays the characters, including the angels, in such a way that the reader feels a personal connection with them. The author is very insightful in describing the role that angels potentially play in the decisions that humans make. The content includes the role of fallen angels in persuading humans to make poor decisions. The author portrays fascinating and creative descriptions of the constant battle demons wage against the human spirit.
The author does a good job of showing that even angels are not aware of God’s complete plan. The author presents the fact that angels thought that Jesus would establish His kingdom while He was on earth and the disciples would lead His army. The author includes the story of Nicodemus. Jesus shares the truth with Nicodemus, but Nicodemus does not understand. Jesus tells Nicodemus that unless he is born again, "he cannot see the kingdom of God." Both Nicodemus and the angels were confused by the concept of being born again.
The book is best suited for Christians because of biblical content. I recommend the book to anyone with even slight knowledge of the Bible due to the intriguing and dynamic content. The book contains no profanity and slight sexual content.
This book and the other two books in the series are exciting and thought-provoking stories of spiritual and physical realm activities. The story includes excitement, suspense, and a surprising twist with the angels at the end. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book as well as the series. I love everything about this book and appreciate the way the author creates closure for the journeys of all characters. I would highly recommend reading this series as well as any other books by this author. The author includes a hint of a separate series around the apostle Paul, which might be wishful thinking on my part. I must rate the book a 4 on a scale of 1 to 5 due to some minor grammar errors.
