Untertauchen by Authur M. James follows the story of a man named Hans Bracher who was arrested and molested. He left to live with a person called Anna and her parents, but things went bad when Jewish businesses were boycotted. He was still looked for by the SA and had to run away to France. This book focuses on survival, fear, evasion, and family. What will happen to Hansa and his loved ones? Do they all survive the terror? Follow the story to find out more about Han's survival.

This book has amazing storytelling. The tone of this book is absolutely tense and packed with fear, which makes the reader actually feel as if they are experiencing the same emotions as Hans. The character development is very emotional and inspiring. The characters all fought battles and had to go through many struggles.

There wasn't anything that I disliked in this book. The fact that Jan did his best to protect his family and his loved ones instead of just leaving them was remarkable and truly a great lesson. Anna was my favorite character, especially as I am a female myself. Anna had a lot of strength, courage, and passion.

This book is exceptionally well edited, as I have found no errors while reading. I liked how the author did historical research and also how the author structured this book. I liked how the author was also able to make the scenes understandable. This book is long to read; however, it is not at all confusing. I rate this book five out of five stars due to the reasons given above.

I recommend this book to readers who love historical novels. I would also recommend this book to readers over the age of sixteen due to themes such as evasion, fear, and violence.
