Hi Priya, I read the book and found it as engaging as you did. I also felt bad for Delvin due to the way the royals treated him. Your review captured my thoughts perfectly, and I enjoyed reading it. Great job!

I’ve already read this book, and it's an engaging start to a promising fantasy series. The plot quickly transitions from a mystery to an action-packed thriller, with intriguing characters like Princess Jarla and the enigmatic black magician. Grea review!

"Thank you for sharing your thoughts on 'Illusions of Power'! I'm glad you enjoyed the blend of magic and medieval setting in Delvin's journey. The characters, especially Delvin and his bond with animals like Freda, seem to have left a lasting impression on you. It's wonderful to hear that the plot's pace and the author's descriptive skills kept you engaged throughout. Here's to more adventures in the series!"

The Magician's Secret" by Charles Townsend tells the story of Delvin Farmhand who though accused of killing his friend, Borlock, Delvin fought to gain his innocence. A young magician, Delbin could now inherit all the worldly possessions and magical tricks of his friend. This story tells the narrative of suspicion and struggle for power that is common place in a real world. Thanks for the review.

What I love most in this story is that Delvin fought assiduously to clear his name after accusations that he was responsible for the death of a fellow magician and friend, Borlock. He then inherited the mysterious magical powers of his friend and his many worldly possessions.

I read this book last year. Unlike you, I didn't enjoy it very much. Although I was happy at the beginning, somewhere along the line, I got bored and had to stop reading halfway. I guess, different people, different preferences.
Thanks for the review.

I have read the book and agree with your take on it. The banter between the characters and the simplicity of the protagonist too. Enjoyed reading your take on it. Well-documented character traits, too. Great review!
