First off, I am not one for listening to audio books. That being said, I actually found the functions of this app and website very appealing. To start, I was able to easily browse through hundreds of popular titles in all genres. I chose to Read Uncle Tom's Cabin which is one of the several free books available for download and one of my favorite books. That have a huge selection of books to choose from, many free ones as well.

The site is visually appealing and navigation is a cinch. I found it very easy to sign up, browse, edit, and listen to summaries. The books are simple to download and each has a preview you can listen to before you purchase the title. The quality of the download is good as well. You also have the options of adding to a wish list or to save for later. Another plus is that you can access your library from anywhere. You can also choose to stream the book instead of download.

So they give you a 30 day free trial to start and a free book each month. This is great since the price after that is an overwhelming $14.99 per month. I have to admit that I did enjoy being able to sit back and listen to a book.

Despite the fact that the functionality of the site is great, there are a few things that frustrated me. First was their point system. A lot of books are free, but most cost at least one credit. I was a bit confused by this system because I couldn't figure out how to earn any credits without purchasing them and quite honestly, shouldn't that be included in the monthly price? I was definitely disappointed by this.

The major negative for me though is the price of $14.99 a month. This is why I am not going to keep my account with them. You would have to listen to at least your audio books a month to make it worth it. So for someone like me who prefers to read, I would not recommend it. To be honest, there are other apps that offer the same thing for cheaper.

All things considered I give audiobooks.com 2 out of 4 stars. This is absolutely due to the high price. I can only recommend this to people who only listen to audio books. And even then, they can get the same thing for cheaper elsewhere.
