I tried Audible subscription service for their 30 day trial, which gave me one free book credit, a $14.95 value. This app is easy to use and easy to browse for book titles. Everything about the app is very easy and user friendly, except for the price. Their customer service is outstanding. Each time I contacted them via email, I received a reply within 5 minutes. I rate this app 3 out of 4.

I didn’t rate the app a 4 because the subscription service is too expensive for me. I read many books in one month and if I used this service exclusively, I would spend well over $70 monthly. Audible charges $14.95 every month for their subscription service and credits your account for one book. Each additional book credit also costs $14.95. They do offer free books, which you can access through their app without a subscription, much like Barnes and Noble with a Nook, Amazon with a Kindle, and free online libraries with any android device.

Although I don’t like the expense, I do like the variety and availability of their books. Any book shown on their app can be purchased and downloaded with no waiting period. Their library boasts a total of over 60,000 titles in 25 different genres to choose from. I also like the fact that the book is yours to keep and listen to as many times as you like as long as you keep the app installed, even after you cancel your membership. You also have access to any book credits your account has accumulated, even if you cancel your account. You can cancel your account at any time, no questions asked.

You can listen to their audio books after downloading them or with instant streaming through an internet connection. You will use data either way. Downloading uses more data and takes up more space on your device, but I prefer it because there are no lags or interruptions. Audible supports the latest versions of Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari for instant streaming. Downloadable files are offered to iOS or android devices.

Their subscription service is available to listeners in the United States and Canada only. If you are traveling to another country, you must claim your book credit before you leave so you can listen to it while you are traveling. Their free books can be accessed internationally only through their mobile app.

If you don’t have to worry about spending money and you want to listen to books without waiting for them, then Audible subscription service is definitely for you.
