I just finished Solaris Seethes a Sci-fi adventure written by Janet Mcnulty (book 1 in the Solaris Saga series). The prologue captured my interest and would let go until I finished the book. This book left me wanting more thank goodness it is part of series.

The opening prologue introduces us to Solaris and the job that was left for her by Marlow to aid and protect his, sarcastic and disillusioned, granddaughter Rynah. Her grandfather was tries and convicted of high treason and because the court thought he was insane he was sent to a mental institution in stead of being executed. Rynah had become estranged from him because of he became so obsessed with anything to do with the prophecy he could not even morn the loss of his only daughter.

Together Solaris and Rynah embark on a journey across the universe searching for the the four heroes of prophecy who will assist them in their quest to save the universe from her former fiance Klanor. A megalomaniac who wants control of a dangerous power that can be acquired from six crystals distributed on multiple planets throughout the universe.

We meet four heroes. a warrior king, a Greek scribe, a timid teen, and a futurist inventor. Each and every one of them bring exactly the abilities needed to full fill the prophecy found in the ancient lore. Together they encounter worlds with unusual environments and dangers on their quest to retrieve the crystals before Klanor.

Solon is a seventeen year old scribe from Greece (philosopher). Alfric is the 40 year old warrior king of the vikings (warrior). Brie is a sixteen year old still unsure of herself filled with a lot of fear and doubts. (lover). Lastly we meet Tom a twenty year old inventor still trying to prove himself to his confederates. Together this mixed group of personalities eventually form a fighting force to be reckoned with.

They are in a fight for their lives against pirates, carnivorous creatures, and Klanor's followers, but they use their combined abilities to survive these encounters and continue to learn from them. They have many setbacks , but are not deterred from the journey to get the crystals before Klanor.

I give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 because i was so enraptured by this book I could not put it down until I found out how they escaped from whichever dangerous situation they found themselves in. I would highly recommend this book to Sci-fi readers and also anyone who enjoys a good adventure novel. I doubt the readers of these genre will be disappointed by this book.
