Broken Angel by Alex Apostol receives a 4 out of 4 stars rating from me. It is the first book in the Chronicles of a Supernatural Huntsman series. I enjoyed it so much I have already downloaded the second book, and will be waiting for third to be released. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good, fast paced urban fantasy book.

This story is about a heartbroken mother, Kamlyn Paige, whos son has just been murdered in front of her very eyes. Unsure of what she had seen that night, she is beside herself and is offered help to get revenge from a strange neighbor down the street, claiming to know who killed her son and how to set things right. Along the way to avenging her sons death she has many obstacles to overcome. Not only does she have to concentrate on revenge for her son, but she also has to find and stop the being that is threatening the worlds end.

What I really liked about the book was the main character, Kamlyn Paige, and her headstrong attitude. At the beginning of the book, I saw a very heartbroken mother ready to give up. Very quickly, when given a purpose, she turns into an unstoppable force to be reckoned with. Not only for the one who killed her son, but for those who may wrongfully cross her path on the way. At some points I actually found her attitude a bit funny and had a giggle or two.

The only part of the book I had mixed emotions about was the relationship between her and her neighbor. They both have a situation to bond over, yet through the book, they very seldom have any contact. That being said, at the end of the book, they seem to have a very tight connection that was nowhere to be seen throughout. I felt a little confused about this and wished, at least once, they could've had a moment where that stemmed from.

Having read this book, I am excited to go further with the series. The outgoing attitude of Kamlyn Paige and looking at the situations she runs into throughout the book, may be very good life lessons for some. Although the connection between her and her neighbor I found was lacking, I'm a very happy reader with this story and hope everyone who reads it will be too.
