Title: Wrong Turn, Right Guy
Author: Haylie B, Fox
Copyright: 2011
Genre: Romantic Comedy

Teresa Verney is a high power workaholic attorney who made arrangements for a long awaited vacation so she can attend her best friend's wedding in Italy. Her boss assumes she will drop everything to take on a case involving a high-profile client. Teresa felt she could handle the preliminary information gathering before the trip and then finish the case via the internet and phone calls, but the boss wanted her to handle it on a more personal hand holding face to face level. She surprised herself by refusing to cancel her trip and made an ultimatum they could do it her way or she would resign so, just before her planned trip she found herself unemployed after a twelve-year work life without any time off.

Teresa is a bit OCD and being unemployed doesn't fit into her rigid plans, and she feels she has to get a job lined up before she leaves on her trip. She rushes into interviews unprepared with discouraging comic effects. While eating lunch after one of the interviews a beautiful well behaved dog comes up to her, he didn't have a collar and was well cared for so, she inquired if the shop workers knew the dog they did not.
She just could not walk away from the dog so she takes him home and begins looking for his owners. Unable to find them she now has make arrangements for his care but cannot find any kennel to take him. Her mom Cheryl who is traveling with her to Italy came up with the answer to the dog situation.

On the morning of their departure the plane broke down, and delayed their journey, this just adds to Teresa's worries about not finding a new job before they had left. Upon arrival in Italy Cheryl wanders off, and Teresa sees her being led away by two men and rushes to her because she feared they were abducting her. Cheryl innocently believed they were going to take them to the bus station. Cheryl became doubtful when she saw the derelict van they placed her suitcases in. Cheryl jumped in to retrieve he luggage and Teresa jumps in to retrieve her mother, the men toss Teresa's luggage in and slammed the door and drove away with them. The men did take them to the bus station, but wanted an outrages amount for taking them there. Teresa paid the high fee because she was afraid they would not give back their luggage.

They arrived at their hotel just in time to attend the rehearsal dinner. Teresa had made plans for them to see some of Italy before the wedding. Hotel reservations were made but she had not made any arrangements for train or bus tickets even if she had they do not run on the Sabbath they day they were suppose to start and there was a transit strike eliminating public transportation. They had to rent a car in order to keep to their timeline. Teresa Drank a bottle of water to relieve her headache from drinking the night before and had an espresso with breakfast. Moreover, they did not even make it out of town before they had to make a pit stop. This being only the first of many mishaps they will encounter during their travels. They get lost while returning to attend the wedding and the car breaks down, so they walk looking for help at a quaint villa. Teresa finds assistance, love and potential heartbreak.

I give this book 3 out of 4 because as obsessive as Teresa is portrayed I cannot believe she would left everything to chance and not use a professional travel agent for this trip to a country where she did not even speak the language. If there was a transit strike how were they able to catch a bus to the hotel? This book brought back times I had spent with my mom who was too trusting and getting into situations by approaching and speaking to strangers who she saw as friends she had not met yet. I would recommend this book for anyone looking for a few good giggles.
