This book was a quite a delightful surprise of twists and turns. Just when you think that you've got a sense as to where the story is taking you, there is another bend in the road and you are thrown off track once again.

I felt this book was well written and edited. It was believable and I felt many different emotions as I learned more about each character. It offered suspense, but also a bit of romance.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story line and the characters. I feel the author did a great job of keeping the reader in suspense and anxiously awaiting the next twist. Many times, authors will start out on a new path in their writing and you feel like it will be a refreshing new journey, only to be brought back to a typical and expected ending. It was refreshing that this author didn't lead the reader right where you would expect to be led. Several times I decided to go back and re-read a previous section because the author threw in another surprise and I felt I needed to go back and enjoy it once again with the new information that I discovered as the story progressed. It’s a book that begs to be read more than once. This is truly the type of book that enthralls me and I'm really looking forward to reading more of the stories penned by Kaylin McFarren.

This story also reminds us to allow love to touch our lives and don’t let life’s painful moments determine our future. Many times we become cynical towards those we love the most because of the hurts we’ve experienced because of them. We should not let past experiences keep us from believing and truly loving and trusting others. I felt the author really emphasized this through this story.

It interested me from the very beginning and held my interest, anxiously awaiting the next turn of events until the very end. Well written, realistic and believable characters, many twists and turns that keep you interested and makes you want to read all day long! I read a lot of books and this is the first that I’ve read as a result of a recommendation through this forum. While I read a lot of books and there are many that I absolutely love, but I only recommend a few throughout the year to my family and friends. This quickly became one of the few that I recommended this year. I most definitely rate Flaherty’s Crossing a 4 out of 4!
