My Trip to Adele is a sweet book with an interesting theme and some real thoughts to ponder. I have read books with a similar idea of telling several different stories about the same event, but this one is unique in the points of view of the characters as well as the outcomes of the stories.

This book follows the stories and lives of three different people and the people immediately attached to them. There’s Nadia, a mom in Jordan who dreams of taking her young son to see Adele’s concert in Verona. Nadia’s story is full of fighting and struggle. She is a divorced woman and tells a great deal about the battles she fought to become the independent woman she is. She struggles with defining independent as much as she battles with her ex-husband. When there is an accident at a wedding and she reacts counter to what her family wishes, will it ruin her chance to take her son to Adele?

Elias has a different story. He has a memory of a girl whom he loved desperately. He was infatuated. He met her on a trip to Morocco and has never been the same. He returns to Morocco to find her again, to see if there is any way of changing their future, maybe making one together. He is reminded of a conversation where they promised each other to meet at an Adele concert. When he finds that she is no longer in Morocco, he rushes to Verona. Will he find her there?

Finally, there is Yaser. He and his wife live in Las Vegas. Actually, “living” may not be the best description for them. They exist together. The love appears to be gone from their relationship, so much so that they can’t even find and agree on a single happy memory to rebuild on. Yaser remembers the Adele song he played when he proposed and thinks a trip to the Verona concert may be just what they need. He surprises her with a trip and the tickets. Will it save their marriage?

This book was thoroughly enjoyable. It was a story style that we’re all familiar with but with some extra flair we’re not used to. There is a good deal of soul searching and self-reflection which can be sadly lacking in a lot of stories these days. I would definitely suggest this book to friends and family. I give it a solid 3 out of 4 stars.

Congrats on the review! I really liked this book. Your way of depicting the tale is very smooth too.
