Solaris Seethes by Janet McNulty:

The known and unknown lie ahead for the crew of Solaris as they search the cosmos in order to save it from the same destruction as Lanyr, the home planet of one of the protagonist, Rynah.
Highly descriptive planets, new and unknown, Solaris Seethes will take you on a full throttle adventure/hunt through space and time, with only a skeleton crew to pilot. Beautiful and highly imaginative scenery, colourful individuals and a ship with more attitude than you can shake a stick at, this venture will have the reader flying through in order to keep up.

I found this book to be highly enjoyable in its ease to read. The descriptions, although extremely creative, still managed to keep its simplicity and flow.
Unfortunately, for myself, I also found that with its simplicity a lot of information was skimmed over or gave a glance towards something interesting and moved on elsewhere. To a galaxy far, far away. And although I found myself enjoying the characters they appeared a bit to flat for most of the story.
Even though I would have preferred a bit more information, I still highly enjoyed this read and would rate it 3 out of 4 stars simply because of the plot and planetary descriptions. I have to add that some interactions with crew and ship left me exhaling air in a laughing like manner.

I would recommend this book to those who enjoy a fast paced story (imagine Pringles and trying to stop eating them.) Those who love anything remotely Sci-Fi or space related should look no further than this. Those who just enjoy a helter skelter mad dash adventure would thoroughly enjoy this book and I would even recommend this book to someone looking for inspiration, as the colourful worlds Janet McNulty describes are truly fantastic to see in the minds’ eye.

I would not, however recommend this book to you if your main interest is in-depth character or plot development. Yes, the characters of the story are fleshed out overtime and the story darts along and gets the reader where they need to be, but as previously mentioned, information in some regards is left out or grazed over. And for some that method of storytelling is not what the doctor ordered.

Overall, Solaris Seethes by Janet McNulty, is a highly pleasant easy to read high paced adventure, with enjoyable characters and colourful worlds.
