Raven's Peak by Lincoln Cole is a supernatural thriller and a wonderfully good wholesome read! You will not want to put the book down as it is full of suspense and surprises. I rate the book as a 3 out of 4, as I found a few grammar mistakes otherwise I would give it a 4.

The characters in this book are well developed with Abigail,a butt-kicking female lead, who has known about demons since her childhood and Haatim, a male lead that is discovering himself, who has just learned that demons do exist. Abigail struggles with trust issues but finds herself trusting Haatim who is struggling with grief and family issues. It will be interesting to see how the characters continue to grow and develop in the rest of the trilogy.

Raven's Peak also includes some religion. Haatim studied religion, but it doesn't focus on just one religion it hints at multiple religions and how they all are similar and stand against evil. Haatim is also struggling with his religion due to his grief as people can relate to in asking how and why if there is a God could he let bad things happen to people who can be related to as innocent. Overall Cole did a nice job of including religion in his book without forcing his beliefs on the reader.

I really liked that this book didn't try to include romance and that it was a clean wholesome read with a little bit of violence/gore, that I would feel comfortable even letting a tween read. It is also nice to find a book with a strong female lead and a male lead that is growing into his role. The only issue I had with the book was a couple of grammar issues such as a pronoun that said her when it should have been a him and due to little issues like that you may need to reread a few lines to understand exactly who the author was referring to.

Overall Raven's Peak is a good read unless don't like cliffhangers, because it does leave you needing to buy the next book to continue the story-line. It also has characters that are easy to relate/connect to. I highly recommend the book unless you do need that happily ever after at the end.
