THE BONDING by Imogen Keeper is a fictional erotica romance novel based on the interesting story of Tam and Nissa. Both the emotional and physical challenges they face through their bonding.
Nissa is the queen-designate of the planet of red earth and green seas, Triannon. With her father as king and already betrothed, Nissa is bound to her people. Unfortunately, Triannon gets invaded by aliens with pale skin and shiny black hair (the Vestige) who force the Trianni people to vacate their land. With this as the only possible option, Nissa together with 99 of her people are placed into cryo-pods and hurled into space to secure their survival and safety, together with those back in their land.
Tam is a warrior of the Tribe Argentus whose warriors train long, hard and brutal, and have few females to mate with. So when Nissa's pod comes to view on Tam's ship and he retrieves it to find a female inside suffering from the blue-tinge, Tam has no other option but to save her using his serum through bonding with her. But this act will tie them forever.
As the queen-designate, Nissa fights hard to recover the pods of her people and get her land back from the Vestige. Will her position as queen-designate and betrothed to another affect her bonding to Tam? Will her people accept a non-Trianni to rule them as king? Will her father accept a non-Trianni as king?
I like this book as it is exquisitely written by the author, with a unique storyline that is very captivating and interesting. You just want the story to go on and on. What i like most is the simple language used and the storyline of the novel.
I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars because of its uniqueness and its captivating nature. It is well written from beginning to end with simple but great language. It's nothing from the ordinary and one cannot guess what will be happening next. The characters are well described and their attributes brought out nicely that the story just grips you. However, I've given this book a 3 because it lacks the aspect of suspense. It is an ever-going story with surprises here and there but no suspense to add to the flavour of the story. Nonetheless, kudos to the author!!
This book will appeal well to young adults with broader understanding and also due to the erotica included in the book. Definitely not for ages 14 and below. I highly recommend this book to my fellow book readers who need something out of the ordinary and not a cliche as such. You will absolutely not be disappointed.
