Raquel Says (Something Entirely Unexpected): This is a sort of philosophical book written by Mois Bennaroch and the book is translated into English by Sally Seward. This book is about the philosophy of soul mates and spiritual love. The writer mentioned about the parallel worlds in which two different individuals live but they are very much similar to each other in spite the fact that they never met each other but even then their place of birth, date and even professions are same.

In this book, the writer talks about the existence of soul mates, which are born on the same day, in the same city and their children, have the same names. According to the philosophy of Mois Bennaroch, it is not necessary that two soul mates should live together and they should marry with each other.

The writer in the book mentioned about the soul mate named Raquel who was also a writer, both Mois and Raquel born in the same city and on the same day. The mothers of both the writers were friends. The thinking of both the writer resembles with each other and both saw the world with the same perspective despite the fact that they were married to two different people and they only communicated with each other through emails, letters and sometimes on phone. But there is a strong bond of love between them and they saw each other as part of themselves. Their love is spiritual rather than physical.

Besides the philosophy of soul mates and parallel worlds he also mentioned his hardships in life that how he struggled to settle in Israel after migrating from Tetouan and also mentioned the bias of Israelis against the immigrants. The writer also mentioned the difficulties in his marriage life.
The book is recommended for those who like philosophical kind of stuff. The philosophy about the soul mates and spiritual love is very well mentioned but the writing style of the writer is very vague. There is a problem of connectivity between the paragraphs and one could not extract the exact plot of the book after reading it.

I would give this book 2 out of 4 rating because it lacks the definite plot and heavy philosophy with the lack of connectivity between the paragraphs. But the philosophy on spiritual love and the parallel world is awesome. One should read it as it’s different from ordinary writings.
