The Nobel Prize written by Mois Benarroch is a story about a struggling writer named George Acuaria. We follow George in his life after 30 years of trying to make it big as an author. The way he describes his life makes one believe he is struggling with depression from his failures as a writer. He is given a small amount of hope when he hears about an author who went crazy and believes he is characters from his own books. We as readers follow him as he explains his tale through it all.

I can see two big themes in The Nobel Prize on being you only get what you put into something. What I mean by this is if you only put a small amount of effort into something, or if you're only doing something to get it done it most likely it's not going to be your best work. One can see this as a theme when an old acquaintance, who took years to finally write his book, comments on how he is happy he worked so hard on a good book instead of writing a book every year like George. Another theme of The Nobel Prize is not everything is as it seems as the theme. For example George explains that how after winning a prize everyone assumes he has money by how many books he has written when he is actually struggling just to eat.

In all honesty this was a book that I can only think of one positive comment, and that is its original ideas. Throughout the book one is hit with a completely out of the blue twist. Some are very good twists like the ending, but mostly it makes me question how the author came up with the twist and how does the twist make the book any better or contribute to the main plot. The only thing I can think of is that the twists are supposed to show how George is breaking down mentally.

Unfortunately I had a lot of dislikes about this book such as the writing style, plot and characters. The writing style really made me cringe throughout reading the book, there was hardly any writing.I get that some readers don't like long paragraphs of details, but in this book the lack of details makes it hard to read. I couldn’t really emerge myself in the story. The characters were all flat. I couldn’t bring myself to care for any of them or see them as people. The overall plot of the book wasn't that bad, but the sub plots were way out of place and seemed completely random.

Overall I would rate The Nobel Prize by Mois Benarroch 1 out of 4 stars. Because of the lack of details in the book and how confusing it was to read, the book is almost unreadable. The unrealistic and unnecessary twists definitely makes it a cringe worthy book. The main idea of the book isn’t that bad though, and would even be readable if the author just stuck to that idea and built up on the details.
