the bonding by Imogen Keeper tells the tale of 2 universally different beings pulled together by a life saving (altering) decision, the problems they face because of that decision, their obvious diversity and impromptu copulation. Nissa is a princess from a once prestigious planet while Tam is a warrior used to the hard life. Their eventual meeting though not planned results in a whirl of complementing events that only draw them closer. Sometimes the obstacles they encounter seem too complicating to overcome but their infinite affection for each other is the end story.
the bonding is a mixture of disparate themes, romance being the most prominent. It is generally good because it inhibits a clear and definite writing principle, crafted with no grammatical blunders and the creativity Imogen employs is by all accounts applaudable. however it is specifically lacking; While it definitely appeals to a specific audience, I cannot help but feel the book is a little convenient, it embodies a straightforward approach, with themes that are not as thoroughly exploited. It has just one major plot which the entire book revolves around and one singular story. While that is not ‘grounds for dismissal’, with a book of this magnitude, much is expected from it.
The preamble of the book is quite encouraging because you perceive genres you believe to be integral to the book but which the first chapter disabuses you of.
My best part of this book has to be the narrative description the entire book incorporates; I read the words like a poem rather than a plot. The words in this book have a way of complimenting each other, even though most of them are not in English
The bonding is one of the few books that go into the subject matter fairly quickly ‘hit the nail on the head’ without much ‘dancing around’. That part is much appreciated. It is recommendable; I can recommend it to people as a good passage of time.
Not much was given by way of character development; new introduced characters were just as translucent as the major characters. But a book has to be more than a good grammar or fascinating literature and that was all the bonding was.
I will rate this book 2 out of 4 for its unique concept, interesting output and workmanship however it also receives the same ratings for its monochromatic singularity. It is not a bad book but I cannot shake the feeling that it could have been better.
