Could you imagine your life being gone in the blink if an eye? Everything you knew, vanished right then and there? Well for Rynah, it seemed so much faster.
Rynah's life changed so much in 24 hours it was hard for her to keep up most times. She had the best life anyone could imagine and in one fell swoop, it was take away. Her planet, Lanyr, had just been destroyed and, she barley made it off alive. As she journeys through space, she befriends Solaris. Solaris has promised to protect Rynah at all cost. She has also told Rynah about a legend that might just help her save her planet. As they try to stop whoever destroyed her planet from doing the same to others, Rynah and Solaris meet some unexpected friends (at least to Rynah) who decide to stay and help. As Rynah, Solaris, Alfric, Solon, Brie, and Tom continue on their quest, they find that things just aren't that simple.
In this thrilling sci-fi book by Janet McNulty ,Solaris Seethes, somehow mixes the past, present, and future perfectly. From back to the vikings all the way to the year 2099, and everywhere in between.
I loved the characters! Rynah and her commanding attitude in situations that most would run scared, to Solaris and her aversion to not taking any lip from anyone. Including the one she is sworn to protect. I like how Alfric cares about people even if he just met them, and how Solon might be a quiet one but is as brave as a soldier when the time calls for it. I love Tom's very, inventive ways, and Brie's courage when it comes to protecting those she cares about as well. Something I didn't like was how McNulty had Rynah seem too up-tight for someone who's only in their twenties. I also didn't like that it ended on a small cliffhanger, but that's because I don't really like them.
In saying that I would rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. Although it was well written, it did have a few misplaced or omitted words. Other than those mistakes it was an excellent read. I would recommend this to readers of all ages who would like to get out of reality or are looking for an adventure. This is part of a series called The Solaris saga. The first four are available to order.
I hope anyone who reads this book enjoys it as much as I did!
