As the queen-designate, Nissa, must think about more than just herself. She must think about her people. When Nissa's planet, Triannon, is under attack by the Vestige, she tries to figure out what she has to do to save them. Himnor (the king) was told by the Council that they had some cryo-pods stored. There wasn't enough for everyone and they only held one person. The king decided that there would be a raffle to see who would get the other pods. Nissa was places in one and thrust towards the nearest solar system in hopes to bring back help in time to save the rest of the people.

A warrior named Tam finds a pod floating in the middle of nowhere. He brings the pod aboard his vessel and opens it to find Nissa encased in gel. Once she is awake and talking the two of them find out that Nissa might die. In order so save her Tam must bond with her. In doing so they are able to understand each others respective languages. Nissa explains what happened to Tam and asks him to help her. As the quest goes on they encounter many dangers and complications. They choose to keep going until they finish what they started.

In this romance, The Bonding by Imogen Keeper, we are taken on a journey with a warrior who will stop at nothing to protect the ones he cares about and a princess who is trying to stay strong for her people.

This book was well written with only one or two duplicated words. I like that it was written in 1st person and didn't change from that to another point of view. I loved the adventure Keeper gave this book and the range of personalities of the characters. There's Tams fierce protectiveness to Nissa's determination. I didn't like that the relationship seemed kind of one-sided for most of the book. It seemed like Tam was more into the relationship than Nissa was.

I would rate this book 3 out of 4 stars; although it was a good book it did have mature situations that wouldn't be suitable for younger readers. It has very detailed and very frequent sexual situations. I don't like those situations but I did like the romance aspect. I would recommend this book to readers of 17 years of age and older! I hope those who read this book enjoy it. Thanks for reading!
