Raven's Peak is essentially a battle of good versus evil. It takes place following a tragic event regarding our anti-heroine Abigail Dressler. After sweet Haatim is hired to play the role of private investigator and prove that she's been stalking George Wertman, and plans to kill George. This leads to Haatim getting mixed up with demons, something he never truly believed existed. Following a shootout in his apartment building, Abigail and Haatim high-tail it to the small mountain town of Raven's Peak where a much bigger threat exists. Abigail and Haatim have to race against the clock to stop it, or else be wiped out along with all of the other residents.

The story is amazing! It had me hooked from the beginning, and as I read further into it, and learned more about these two main characters the faster I read. While most of the loose threads did get tied up nicely at the end, we were also left with new questions that will hopefully be answered in the sequel, which I'm anxiously waiting to read.

The story read rather well too. Nothing was said or done that wasn't pertinent to the story, and much like with a movie, the dialogue was only used to help move the plot along. Too many times I've read books that get repetitive with information, but this one wasn't like that at all.

I did give it a three out of four stars rating though, and that's for two simple things. The first is that it did have a few minor errors in punctuation. They were subtle things that most people wouldn't notice, but they bug me. That being said, I didn't spot any grammar or spelling errors, and that's slightly more important then what you enclose your dialogue with. The second reason I didn't give this book a four is because there were a few spots where it seemed as if the author had forgotten what he'd previously written. Abigail can't have the gun shake in her hands if she's already sat it on the floor. When did she pick it back up? It saddens me to think that the editor didn't spot these moments, though there's only two that I can recall, and mention it to the author.

Overall, I really love this story, and these characters have wormed their way into my heart, and I can't wait to see what happens to them next.
