The Stealer of Memories. The title alone was enough to capture my attention. Curiousity was boucing around in my mind before I began reading the book. The story is very interesting and left me guessing the next chapter, but the structure needs some work.

The story is about a man trying to live his life, a life with multiple memories. He is unsure which memory is his. The mystery behind it sent excitement flowing through me, until I started to 'eye trip' while reading the first chapter. The mistakes are a little heartbreaking and take away the thrill of the book.

While I did enjoy the book, what I did not like about it are the main downfalls in the total scoring. First, on some of the pages there is no indication of someone speaking, for example quotations and their words are usually separated from paragraphs. I had to reread the sentence or sometimes the whole paragraph to make sure what I read was a thought or words being spoken. Secondly, words were incorrectly spaced which caused a stumble in my reading. Last, some of the translation seemed 'computerized'. In other words, the thought or idea would fit in with what is being said but the words and structure of the sentence makes it hard to swallow.

It is not like this on every page to where it takes away the enjoyment of reading. Unfortunately I rate it 2 out of 4. The story is wonderful and I love the different personalities flowing of the pages, each one with new background to keep you guessing. I would raise the rating one more point. The mistakes, on the other hand, caused an interruption on the flow of reading or 'eye trips'. It made it slightly difficult to see the big picture without going over it a second time (sometimes a third or fourth). The 2 out of 4 is painful in my eyes but I feel it is appropriate.

Regardless I did not allow the bumps and tumbles stop me from reading and enjoying this book. The unusual colors the story uses paints an interesting picture and the different narrators were unique artist. It was still a pleasure reading The Stealer of Memories. The memories were enough to keep me going.
