This fact-based health book, Health Tips, Myths and Tricks: A Physician’s Advice has useful genuine information, counsel and straightforward solutions. I have discovered topics and issues that are significant to my diet and lifestyle in this book, especially the advices about the aids of losing weight, the benefits of coffee intake and its disadvantages, the double trouble of junk food and a lot more. I found this book to be an eye opener, informative and substantial. The author was dedicated and devoted to expose those pervasive fallacies, and to provide guidance and recommendation to the readers the proper nutrition with the support of scientific research.

In this book, Morton E. Tavel, a physician and the author, shows a very clear understanding in distinguishing what is real and what is sham in the health industry. Thus, the book gives information about our bad eating habits and offers health recommendation. It is all based on either the author’s education or the results of various studies as a physician.

The book has three sections. Every section describes the title of the book: tips, myths and tricks about health. The goal of the book is to give support and assist the reader in providing better choices and knowledge. At the end, you will be fully knowledgeable and satisfied knowing the truth about most health issues. The book opens our eyes on health myths or medical scams which distress us to live a life healthily; producing overpriced for authentic goods and causing us to throw away money through spending on useless treatments.

Readers can also scan chapter titles of the book and may wish to concentrate on specific issues and topics they are interested to read on. Chapters contain helpful information for as wide as possible. Such as tips about health and wellness that can be incorporated in daily life, common misconceptions of certain products, various tricks that make you spend much money to buy useless or worst yet, dangerous products or wrong medication. The readers will encounter information of positive value for healthy consumption.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars because here, I have learned reliable answers from an experienced and conventional physician who provides the best possible health advice to his patients, the readers. Most especially, because the author’s intention in writing the book is to provide scientifically-based information about what works, what does not work, and tips about saving money; the goal is to help others.
