Roadmap to the End of Days by Daniel Friedmann

Who told you that going back in time is impossible or only possible if we have a time machine? If you are one of those people who believe that going back in time needs a time machine, I recommend this book for you. Going back to the past and advancing to the future does not need a high-end technology. It only requires your time to read and understand this book.

One of my favorite subjects is history because it serves as my connection to the past. It helped me to appreciate what I have. Allow me to borrow the author’s definition of history. According to Friedman, history is an academic discipline that uses a narrative to examine and analyze a sequence of past events and objectively postulates the patterns of cause and effect that determined them. Does it sound history? Well, yes.

Roadmap to the End of Days by Daniel Friedmann is an informative nonfiction compelling book. It answers commonly asked questions about the bible. I sometimes take the time to read the bible but I did not care to analyze the contents. Friedmann enlightened me through this book. There are two books written by Daniel Friedman entitled, “The Genesis One Code” and “The Broken Gift” before this book which I failed to read. It would have been more enjoyable and easier for me to understand this book if I have read the first two books.

This book of information, history, and scriptures is divided into ten chapters. Each chapter gives an analysis of what happened in the past as written in the scriptures. I like the total package of this book but I want to give emphasis to my favorite chapters. Chapters I, II, III, and X are my favorites. Chapter I made me realize that we are in a glass maze. How is this? It is for the readers to discover. I like chapter II because it challenged me with the questions why am I here and what life is. Chapter III left me with a big bang. It helped me to understand the role of the characters from the bible like Moses, Samson, Abraham, and Jacob. Chapter X made me realize that freedom comes with a great responsibility.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars because I learned a lot.The only problem which I encountered in this book are the people, places, and events which were not familiar to me. Friedmann’s style of writing is easy to understand if the reader pays close attention to details. The readers must pay attention to the tabular and graphical presentations he used. I recommend this book for those who love theology. This book can also ignite the interests of those who love to debate about the end of the world.
