Raven's Peak is a book by Lincoln Cole which falls in the classification of fictional novels with a mix of action, horror, suspense and ecstacy. I was literally trapped while reading the first few pages. Some books start being intriguing around the middle but not Raven's Peak. It is captivating from epilogue to prologue. So if you're a lover of well composed action, suspense, and horror, well! this book is just great for you.

Arthur (aka The Reverend) who was reputably known and respected as a demon hunter for years, hunting down demons and protecting humans against their threats was his specialty. During his hunting days he took innocent lives in the course of fighting the demons. Deaths which he convincingly knew he could have prevented. While in prison he taught he could atone for his misdeeds and make amends which proved to be far from the truth. After five years of getting accustomed to prison life and pain something happened.

Abigail, the girl he loved and took as his own child after rescuing her from from a cult and training her from childhood to be just a hunter like him was reported missing and most likely dead. Because of the fatherly love he has for Abigail (who also had a part in his going to prison), he went against his will of staying a prisoner and redeeming himself by atonement and went in search of her in order to avenge her death. Abigail was barely alive when he found her as she was already possessed by one of the strongest demons. He rescued her but not without a cost of being dragged down into the abyss where he became trapped. Months after, Abigail set out on a dangerous, breathtaking and challenging adventure hoping to prove her efficiency to the council which has little faith in her and also try to rescue her mentor disregarding the councils opinion about her dropping the search.

Hattim who ran away from his family and home country to Arizona where he studied theology hoping to clear his mind from all the hatred and regrets he was feeling because of his sisters death which also made him lose his faith in God. He struggled with his emotions until that opportunity which he believe could help him in his quest and career presented itself. Hattim thinking he had nothing to lose but much to achieve from the task the job required accepted the offer not knowing what was waiting for him and that his life was in danger. Unfortunately and fortunately for him he got stuck with Abigail, the woman he was hired to tail.

Okay!!
There were some typographical errors on pages; 28, 33, 35, 40, 46, 103, 170, and 174. At some point, the writer's perspective about Hattim's character seemed confusing to me, as if there was a conflict of characters on what role or who Hattim was supposed to be:
1. Hattim that won't mind getting killed in order to do the right thing .
2. Hattim that would do anything to make the plan work
Well! As I mentioned earlier, "it seemed confusing to me" but I got my way around it, I'm not sure if it will occur to any other person the same way. Which is good since I am not the target audience.

Over all I rate this novel 4 out of 4 stars. The suspense, action and horror were all well constructed and rendered keeping you glued to each chapter and wanting more. Sincerely, I found myself in the book like I was there and didn't want the story to come to an end. Isn't that funny?.
