I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars.

Roadmap to the End of Days is the kind of book title I’m immediately entranced by. Any kind of theory or inclination as to how the world is going to end or how we’re going to get there is interesting enough to pull me in, and this book was no exception.

Based around social, historical and religious evidence, the book explores the theory that there is a planned path from the beginning of time to the end of it, and that it was all put into place by God-- and rather than the usual scary, apocalyptic end of the world theories books like this predict, it instead offers something much more reassuring.

The book maintains a perfect blend of science and religion, showing that the two can coexist quite happily together. It provides religious ideas and teachings and backs them up with history and science to provide evidence towards the theory, and although at times the book does rely a little too heavily on religious ideas for my particular liking, it was a theory that could, altogether, make sense, and could very well provide hope for those who are a little scared of what is to come, particularly considering recent events.

Friedmann provides a great deal of background information, which means that even if you have very little idea of what each religion practices, you can easily keep up to speed with the book and its sprawling appendix, and it’s a compelling read. It took me a little over four hours to complete it, and I came away with a thorough knowledge on the religious path to the end of days, and I’ve since discussed the theory with many of my friends.

I’d recommend picking up this book if theories about the end of the world interest you. Roadmap to the End of Days provides and unique insight into the very fabric of the world and it’s creation, and intertwines everything into a seamless theory that so far is completely true.

Whether or not it holds true is yet to be seen, but if you want the know-how of how to get through to the end of days in one piece, reading this book will certainly give you some peace of mind.

Great review. I tried to read this with an open mind since I reviewed it but my Christian worldview must influence me at all times.
