Health tips? Myths? or Tricks? Which is it? You hear so much, and everyone has their opinions. The truth surrounding these claims are revealed with Dr Morton E Tavel's Health Tips, Myths and Tricks A Physicians Advice.

I rate this book, "Health Tips, Myths and Tricks A Physicians Advice" By Dr Morton E Tavel 3 out of 4 stars. I rated this book 3 out of 4 stars, because some of the information can be considered common knowledge. However, there are many useful tips, myths and tricks I didn't know. I will explain what I liked and what i didn't like. I will tell you about chapters that really interested me and ones that did not.

Dr. Morton E. Tavel talks about weight loss in the tips section of his book. Dietary supplements, diet pills, surgery and dieting in general. Dr Tavel breaks it down for us. In this section he answers the questions we all want to know, such as: Do they work? Are they harmful? Can surgery be beneficial?

The author includes a BMI chart that shows whether your BMI is considered normal, overweight or obese. Dr Tavel includes lists of foods high in sodium, protein and potassium. He also includes a list of foods to avoid.

The chapter on "Dietary Supplements, some good, some useless and some dangerous". The author tells which vitamins are beneficial and which ones are not.

The second section of this book is Myths. "Belief in Conspiracy theories about Health" and "Some irrational fears never die". I found these two chapters to be very interesting. Some Adults believe the FDA is withholding a cure for cancer. While others believe vaccines cause autism.

Although, I must mention which chapters didn't interest me. Chapter 49 "Commercial Air Travel : How safe is it?" Maybe the question should be does this chapter belong? Chapter 50 "The Polygraph (Lie Detector) Test: Itself the Biggest Lie?" I would call these chapters the "odd men out". They don't seem to belong in this book.

The third section is about tricks. There is alot of useful information in this section of Health tips, Myths and Tricks. Dr Morton E. Tavel shows us how to recognize the four red flags of consumer fraud. He mentions alkaline water, human growth hormone and scams by legitimate drug companies.

I found this book packed with interesting and educational resources. You can read this book from the cover to cover or use as a reference look up. However you read it "Health Tips, Myths and Tricks" is beneficial to your health and well being. That's a Physician's Advice.
