Our hero of the story, a down on his luck bartender, Patrick Carter, saves a teenage girl from being drowned by two men in the Ausable River. Her sister has also disappeared? Mistaken identity perhaps? How did he, Patrick Carter, get sweet talked into assisting The Task Force with going undercover to obtain information on the illegal weapons deals? How is the sisters’ ”scumbag boyfriend” tied to all of this? Is there Triumph and happiness awaiting our hero, or will he remain as he started at the beginning of the story?

Lemoncella Cocktail by Rene Natan, is a fictional story that takes place mainly in Ontario, Canada. It has all the makings of a good Mystery novel. It’s a wild ride of illegal arms and weapon trading, kidnapping and murder. However, throughout the story courage, hate, love, friendship, violence, treachery, isolation, class, culture, and death are also touched upon.

The book was enjoyable and entertaining. I found it had a good flow. There were many grammar and typo errors overall throughout the book, however I found that this did not distract me from reading or enjoying the story. Just slowed my reading down.

The author made the characters believable. Readers can relate to the characters’ own struggles and dilemmas’. The author brought through the characters’ weaknesses and strengths that the reader can relate to. The author also brought to the fore that actions speak louder than words. That to those people that matter, honesty, and integrity are considered far more valuable than class, money, or status. However, some people will never change and will always worship the almighty dollar.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. This book pleasantly surprised me. Having started with few expectations, I soon found myself hooked. It was entertaining and would appeal to those readers wanting to escape for a few hours on a rainy weekend. The story took place in a real town and country. It covered a very real and relevant on-going world threat. The characters were believable. I did not give it a 4-star rating as I felt that there was perhaps a little bit too many characters in the story that were not entirely necessary. Also, I felt that perhaps there were slightly too many scene jumps near the conclusion of the story as it was a little difficult to keep up as to who was where and when and why.

I agree with most of your comments. Glad you were able to finish the book in a few hours. I struggled more with all the typos and grammatical errors. I wondered too about the scene jumps.
