The Bonding by Imogeen Keeper is a Romance story about how love can conquer all, despite the situations that arise and the stubbornness of the individuals. Our main characters are from two different worlds, literally and figuratively, and fight each day to do what’s right for each other and for their people.

The Bonding starts out with a brief background of one of the main characters, Nissa, the future queen of her people and the tragedy that strikes them. She is secreted away for many years before Tam, one of many warriors on his world, finds her floating through space in a pod. At this point the story gets steamy after Tam finds her and it continues to be so throughout the story. Through the steamy points, Nissa and Tam find out the love that they have for each other and what they would do to keep that love. They also find out who they are together as well as who they are on their own. By the end of the story, I had fallen in love with the love that Nissa has for her people, as well as the love that she had for Tam.

The cons to this book is the level of dependency that Nissa has on Tam after the initial “bonding.” I’ve read similar books with a level of dependency that the female has on the male characters, but it is also reciprocated by the male needing the female at the same level if not more. In this story, Tam needs Nissa as a man needs a woman, but Nissa cannot survive without Tam. We see the level of this dependency later in the story when Nissa makes the hardest decision of her life, her people or Tam.

I enjoyed this book very much, the only downside was that I could put it down for days at a time and then pick it back up and start again. It is extremely descriptive, I could picture in my mind what the characters looked like, the scenery, everything was extremely clear and concise, as if the author was there the whole time experiencing first-hand what the characters were.

I give this book 3 out of 4 stars. As I said it's a very good book and I highly recommend it. It is an excellent romance novel, and as I said particularly steamy throughout the novel. This book will definitely make you want your cake and eat it too.
