My Trip To Adeleby A.I. Alyaseer and R. I. Alyaseer, Genre; Other Fiction, 220 Standard pages.

How many singers can say they have a book written about the lyrics in their songs? Well, add Adele to the list. Her music is the underlying thread thru out the story that involves six lives around the globe. The story brings out a lot of the difficulties that are surfacing as the modern world invades the customs of the mideastern culture. Be prepared to pack your imaginary suitcases for all of the mysterious cities involved with the characters lives.

In Las Vegas, Yaser and Mariam are physicians who live together as a family but could not be any lonelier. The only things that keep them together are their children and their customs. My heart breaks for them as they remember Adele's song playing in the background of the few pleasant memories they have. If they would only open up to each other.

In Amman Jordan, we find Nadia in her struggles raising her son and trying to be strong against the old traditional tribal leaders in her family who try to impose their archaic customs on her life. She does make the right choice but at what cost?

And in Marrakesh, Elias finds himself searching for a long lost love as the writers settle down to writing about the homeland and the bazaar comes alive in my mind with the smells of the spice vendors and the perfume of the fragrance stalls and you can almost see the colorful costumes and sashes of the dancers as this story unravels. Elias is searching for Matika and reliving the reasons he left her behind. I fell in love with the book as the authors are
Chasing after time without realizing they would never catch it.
I want the authors to go on and on about the dark customs and the visits to the tombs of little known prophets and leaders of this mystifying land.

But I would be neglecting my job if I didn't mention a few things. I rated the book a 3 out of 4 starsbecause I struggled thru the first few chapters which could use a little tighter editing. For example, the word learnt should be learned and passerby should be plural in a few places. But, I can forgive this because I think it is an instance of the authors using the old English version and I think the modern version would be better accepted. And the perfume Jasmine is described as being a combination of flower aromas when in fact it has a very strong fragrance of its own. These are just trivial facts compared with the beautiful writing and I know I am going to hear much more from these wonderful authors in the future.
