This book Who told you that you were naked? by Reverend William Combs simply explains the fall of man. In chapter one of the book the author explains how it all began in the Garden of Eden; Adam being the only human being living there. Here we see how Adam related with the environment around him. This is impressive because it brings out the realness of life showing us that even in the Garden of Eden life was just as normal as we experience it in our own lives today.

God and Adam had a lot of interactions in the Garden of Eden and it's during one of these interactions that He noticed how lonely Adam was and decided to create a helper for him, someone who looked like him that he could relate with. Eve was created and she became Adam's mate and helper. When God presented Eve to Adam, he was very excited because at last there was this other creature that looked like him with whom he could enjoy the Garden of Eden.

Adam and Eve continued to live together happily in the Garden of Eden until one day Satan in form of a serpent talked Eve into eating the forbidden fruit. Eve, after eating the fruit then convinces her husband to do the same. It is after Adam ate the fruit that their eyes were opened to see each other's nakedness. God later in the day comes for their usual interactions and finds them hiding and Adam explains that they are hiding because they are naked. That is when God asks them, who told you that you were naked?

In the later chapters the author tries to show us how the events in the Garden of Eden has affected life up to this date, especially the life of a Christian. I really enjoyed reading this book because as a Christian I felt enriched and encouraged. The topics I enjoyed reading the most were topics on relationship of Faith, living in God's rest and Follow me. It is through them that I learned more about having Faith in God and making it work for me. I also learnt that when I fully trust in God I enter His rest where I don't have to be anxious for anything.

I don't however agree with the author's statement that sin began with what Cain did to Abel. My belief is that sin actually began when Eve ate the forbidden fruit which was an act of disobedience to God's command and this is what sin is known to be. I also think the book could have had fewer chapters that thoroughly describe the main topic for better understanding. It is my feeling that the many chapters included in the book made the author go out of context at some point.

I recommend this book to both believers and non-believers. I believe it has so much insight that would be beneficial to anyone, spiritually.

I rate this book 3 out of 4. It is an interesting read and very beneficial to this and the future generations.
