Escape by Belle Ami is published by Hartwood publishing group and is in romance genre . This type of book is fiction and is set in present time (21st century). The author makes use of third person point of view in narrating the story. The book addresses possibilities of war arising from a nuclearized middle east and a reminder of what is at stake. It also show how two people can fall in love despite the circumstances and the events happening around them. It also addresses the cruelty women, especially foreign women go through in some prisons.

The book follows the kidnapping of Layla Wallace on vacation in Dubai together with her Saudi boyfriend, Layla Wallace and zamir are taken to Iran. Cyrus Hassan assistant to deputy director of Iran’s secretive Intel organization is also a deep cover Israel agent. He is activated and ordered to get layla out of Iran, and if the mission doesn’t succeed, he is to kill her. Being a daughter of a nuclear physicist, layla is a perfect target for blackmail. This could lead to a nuclearised middle east and could create war between Israel and Iran. Cyrus has authority over Iran’s nuclear ambition. His mission from the start was to prevent nuclear proliferation in the Middle East and particularly the impediment of nuclearised Middle East, and now his cover is about to be blown. Their escape from Iran seems impossible. All routes lead to a dead end. Cyrus must not only escape from his deadly assassins but also from an intense and powerful attraction he feels to a woman he’s trying to resist. Cyrus is described as a man dedicated to his work and mission, he is ready to sacrifice everything, even his life in order to complete his mission.

This book is interesting and entertaining and the authors work is original. What I like most about the book is the way the author describes the characters, the places and scenes – especially the romance scenes. The characters are well rounded and believable. I found myself liking the good characters and hating the bad characters like Mohammad who was cruel, ruthless and inhuman to women who were in prison, even to the point of raping them.

Cyrus is a man passionate about his work. He is also gorgeous, sexy and dangerous. Apart from that he also has a good side – he is caring. Cyrus is so protective of layla. He protected Layla’s innocence with care. Layla on the other hand is redhead and very beautiful considering the fact that almost all men who were after her wanted to rape her due to her beauty. She was actually the only woman who moved the heart of Cyrus. “It was the first time since meeting Zahra that a woman had affected him with such intensity”.

The grammar had no mistakes and the plot of the book is well done, though a few times it was possible to predict what would happen next. The end left me wanting to read more. I rate the book 3 out of 4 stars. I would want to read more from this author and would recommend the book to people who like reading romantic thrillers.
