For this review, I read the book The 11:05 Murders written by Brian O’Hare. From the moment I picked this book up, I truly had a hard time putting it down! Mysteries and crime novels are widely loved and sought after. However, if you have read a wide variety of mysteries, you would know that there are either good or bad mysteries, without much grey in between. But this book definitely falls into the good category!

In The 11:05 Murders, a young female detective has just started her new job when she receives news of one of the biggest murder mysteries to ever hit her new precinct. As the mystery unfolds, the young detective struggles with feeling comfortable in her new workplace, letting go of old hurt and heartbreak, and letting new friends (and new love) in. In the meantime, she and her new coworkers at the precinct are in immeasurable and frighteningly immediate danger; a deranged and obviously psychopathic killer stalking ever closer.

The storyline for The 11:05 Murders is captivating and the plot is flawless, well-constructed, and consistent. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The author skillfully and creatively guides the reader through his story. The characters were well developed and showed relatable and realistic qualities and growth. As the story builds and the plot thickens, the author subtly guides your emotions and your thoughts along. You will almost begin to feel like one of the characters! And you will certainly empathize with them.

Aside from the characters themselves, the details about the environments are immaculate. The author maintains consistent details, to perfection! Enough detail to help illustrate the scene to the reader, but not so much that it feels like overkill. A very polished, very coherent read. Brian O’Hare has a complete monopoly on the reader’s emotions! I had to put the book down a couple of times because of the urge I had to read faster than the speed of light so that I could keep up with the action!

After learning that Brian O’Hare has written other books, I am truly excited to read them! The 11:05 Murders was a fantastic book and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good mystery. It is the second book in a series of books by Brian O’Hare. This series is primarily focused on one of the lead characters, Inspector Sheenan. After reading book number two, I am looking forward to reading book number one and any other books in this series! Well done!
