Hello, My Love is the first book in the Between two worlds book series by Evy Journey, and i must say i was so captivated by the story i got frustrated when i had to put it down. I have read a few books that the author chose to tell the story from the view point of both protagonists. The author has succeeded in capturing the story in such a way that i was not left wondering the other side's story.
She introduced us to Elise, a law student just a few semesters away from taking her bar exam with very strong viewpoints on ethics and the idea of justice. And throughout Elise's story we see how she meets Greg, the circumstances which lead them to become friends after initial reservations on her part and how this friendship develops into something more without her notice. And eventually one night they both end up succumbing to the intense passion that has existed between them from the beginning. The series of events after this fateful night will tear them apart for some time, but also bring them closer from their self learning journeys.
When we meet Greg it seems at first he is the typical rich guy player boy of most romances, but his depth of feelings for Elise are determined from the beginning and we can see how hard he tries to connect with her and get close to her. Greg's engagement to Lori prior to meeting Elise stands in the way of them being together. Greg ends up making mistakes that will put Elise's life in danger. Will they pull through from all that is setting them apart and will they survive the consequences of their actions.
I liked both protagonists, as we see them struggling with day to day life choices, Elise is a very inspirational female character with her beliefs in justice which we see end up almost costing her her life and career. The support Elise gets from her family even though they do not agree with some of her choices is so very inspiring, sometimes in life it's very hard to get such kind of support system even from ones own parents. I could not put the book down towards the end because i wanted to find out what would happen. .
I rate this book 3 out of 4. This novel was tastefully written and perfect for a summer read, there are some sexual content in the material so i would recommend for readers of 16 years and above. There were no editorial mistake that i could find and some of it's content is definitely quote material, Evy Journey has definitely succeeded in executing the perfect dialogues. At the end of the book there is a small preview into her next two books in the series and they promise to be as riveting and captivating as this first one.
