After finishing a long semester at Harvard, graduate students Layla Wallace and Zamir Kamel are looking forward to a swanky holiday vacation in Dubai. Unfortunately, their vacation turns disastrous when Zamir and Layla are kidnapped from their hotel and taken to Iran. The Iranians ransom Zamir, but decide that the American Layla has information they want.

Trying to avoid an international incident with the United States, Iran’s secret service sends in their top operative, Cyrus Hassani, to rescue Layla. Sparks fly between Layla and Cyrus, but who is he really? Can she trust him? Is he her rescuer or is she in as much danger from him as she was from the kidnappers? If they do manage to get out of this situation alive, can their newfound relationship survive in the real world?

Join Layla and Cyrus on a journey of danger, intrigue, and steamy erotic passion as they race for safety through the Middle East.

Escape, written by Belle Ami (pen name of Tema Merback), is Book One of the Tip Of The Spear series. This book is an erotic thriller of 227 pages, and is available as an e-book on Amazon for $0.99.

The author did a very good job making the characters come alive in this book! Layla and Cyrus, the main characters, have well developed and very intriguing back stories. This made it easy to understand the reasoning that led to the actions the characters took in the story. The supporting characters were all well described and added depth and interest. The author’s use of descriptive language made me feel like I was right there in the midst of the action and feeling the emotions of the characters.

This tale takes place in the Middle East – mostly Iran. The author made the unrest of the area come alive for the reader with talk of government agencies, espionage, and nuclear weapons. She also vividly described places, terrain and culture. The picture she painted was clear enough for me to envision everything! This is what I loved most about the book.

There really wasn’t anything I did not like about this book, but I would have to warn any potential readers that the erotic scenes in this book are very explicit. The language used is a little strong, at times bordering on profanity. If strong language doesn’t appeal to or offends you, you may want to pass on this one.

I felt this book was very well written. The action flowed smoothly throughout and there was never any confusion.

The book seems to have been professionally edited and proofread; I didn’t notice any mistakes in the entire text.

I give Escape a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. The writing is fabulous and the story grabs you from the first page and keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes their romance steamy with lots of thrilling twists and turns!
