Right off the bat Raven’s peak by Lincoln Cole had me hooked. We encounter Arthur who is a reverend lashing himself in some self incarcerated prison. Though we are not told why he did this it must have been gruesome. He is called upon by Frieda a former colleague to help avenge the murder of his adoptive daughter, Abigail under the hands of a demon. It is here we are introduced into the world of the supernatural, of demons. He eventually saves Abigail but at great cost to himself. He however manages to end the demon to hell.

We are thereafter transported into the future, where a now disregarded Abigail is following council orders when she encounters Hakeem. Hakeem is a very important man, only he and Abigail are unaware of this. Frieda, the council and the demon world are all aware of his importance. He is literally dropped into the world of the supernatural and although it all does not make sense to him he holds his own, though his questions to Abigail could prove dangerous.

Trying to stay under the council’s detection, Abigail faces fear and doubt that the council is right in abandoning all hope in finding Arthur, who for all intents and purposes is dead. All roads end up at Ravens peak where a fight to surpass all fights is held with a great demon. Instead of hightailing it, Hakeem proves to be a hero and saves Abigail and they vanquish a demon back to hell. Abigail’s sacrifice o save the town is at a great cost. Her reward is possible murder by the hands of the very council she has been helping.

I rarely give a book a perfect score but I rate this book 4 out of 4. It is wonderfully written and maintained a constant level of interest on my part. The literal skills of Lincoln have kept up my attention and immersed me into the story. I had a near heat attack when I thought it ended with all my questions remaining un-answered only to have them addressed after the end credits, read the book and you will see what I mean.

The cliffhanger is great. I can hardly wait for the following book. Some books leave one disappointed, confused or even angry at the ending. It’s not the case in this book it has just kept me in an anticipatory state. For anyone into fiction and supernatural stories this is the book for you. Even they that are not particularly into these genres, I would still recommend it. Read the book and I promise you will not be disappointed.
