REVIEW BY CHILD ---- RAVEN PEAK BY LINCOLN COLE

I judged this book by its cover that’s why I went for it and I’m glad I did.

Ravens Peak is an interesting fictional book that tells the story of two characters whose lives becomes somewhat attached and teamed up to fight demons and save a town from total destruction.
In the prologue, Reverend Arthur is released from prison to track down a demon that has killed members of a demon hunting team which includes his adopted daughter Abigail. He tracks down the demon only to find out it didn’t kill Abigail but rather it possessed her Abigail’s body, a fight ensues between the both of them he tries to save the children in the demons custody and free Abigail in the process, offering his body in exchange for hers the demon takes the deal, he traps the demon in his body and waits to die knowing that once his body dies the demon would have nowhere to go but back to hell.

In the first chapters of this book we see one of our lead characters Haatim in a bad spot in his life, and there seems to be a silver lining for him after getting a photographers job from a Stanger to stalk a woman who supposedly wants to kill him and take photos of her, but things soon turn around for the worse as he finds out his boss isn’t who or what he thinks he is. We get to see the irony here as the woman he is supposed to track comes into his life and saves him from his employer’s ominous agenda.

Things aren’t roses yet for either of them, she has her own agenda to find her adopted father who was captured by a demon, we get to find out that they are both connected by his father who is one of the leaders of a religious council dedicated to protecting the world and also her boss.

After apprehending a demon and extracting information from it about her father, Abigail and Haatim team up to face a demon that the religious council dedicated to protecting the world is wary of.
I liked the cover picture and the well detailed fights in the book they don’t seem exaggerated, the author did a good job there.

On the down side, I think the book was too straight forward, there were no unexpected surprises for the readers, I expected more twists from a book that has to do with demons.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars because it is enjoyable but I believe that more could be done to improve the story, I did enjoy the book so I can’t give it a 2-star rating but I can’t give it a 4-star rating either because it could have been done better. I think this book would appeal to young readers and fans of supernatural books in general.
