I enjoyed reading this book mainly because the author made it easy to understand the Bible. He quoted the Bible extensively so as not to lose the reader. Thank you for sharing your understanding.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I do see where you're coming from, but I happened to really get a lot out of this book. I was prompted to seek out additional information as the author brought up ideas that I was interested in exploring. My mind, thoughts, ideas, etc. are always evolving, so anything that even remotely suggests I should look into something further is appealing to me.

I do agree with you that religion can be divisive, but it doesn't have to be. We all have the power to be open minded and respectful. Thank you again for sharing your views!

Thanks for understanding. Religion is a complex topic as it is even largely misunderstood even by it's adherents. Mostly because it is open to a wide range of interpretation. It all boils down to an individual.

My opposition comes from the way it profiles people. Something I am all too familiar with growing up in a religiously diverse community. Despite the fact that all have a similar goal, which is not being achieved. I strongly believe it divides us more than unite, especially in this age.

Sadly, I have to agree with you on religion dividing us more than uniting us. Because there is so much room for various interpretations, no two people will ever completely agree. It's difficult for me to grasp the amount of resentment people often feel when dealing with differing opinions. This is because I think we're ultimately just supposed to come together in love. I also don't feel like it's my place to judge the opinions of others. There are always different paths you can take to reach the same destination. Perhaps my path isn't the right path for you, but that doesn't mean yours is a path to destruction.

You guys are having a thought-provoking discussion. I am always curious of alternative views, if not different form own. But, this quote I agree to.

I'm curious of alternative views as well. It can sometimes lead to enlightenment, even when your opinion doesn't actually change.
I'm glad you agree with my earlier statement. People sometimes forget that there typically isn't just one right way to do something.
