Presenting an interesting dynamic with two people that are so in love, so filled with passion for one another, that they react lovingly towards each other with acts of assertiveness that boarders aggressive and mildly violent. Marrying A Playboy Billionaire by H. M. Irwing, starts off with a devastated Aria being left by her fiancé, then quickly flashes forward five years. Those five years in the future start off by explaining that Aria is single and depressed because of her ex. When a meeting for work arises, Aria reluctantly must attend this meeting even though she doesn’t wish to. It is at this mysterious work meeting that things within this story start to get confusing. Walking into the office of an old childhood family friend Aria’s story immediately becomes an intense romantic relationship with a proposal for marriage attached to it seemingly out of nowhere.

Though, the plot seems easy enough for a fictional romance novel that revolves around two people that are deeply and desperately passionate about being with one another, there is a lack in development which leaves the reader to guess what is really happening. There literally seems to be chunks of time missing from the story that could be valuable in understanding what is taking place between the main characters. Lacking a sense of what the writer was trying to go for, it just seems the mark was missed frequently and then forgotten about before publishing. Almost as if you as the reader must create a back story on your own while reading alongside this one. Even though there was a great use of passion at certain points it still lacked a feeling of being able to place oneself into the story. With plenty of potential throughout the only thing missing is the basic parts that explain how we got to various situation throughout the book, if that was fixed this would be for an interesting read. Although, it is because of those holes in development of this story that I rate this book a 2 out of 4 stars. Several times throughout reading a deeper development starts to be explained and then it changes into an altercation of sorts between two or more characters. Without giving away too much to the reader it is not completely terrible and some could enjoy it, just keep in mind while reading this it lacks a smooth flow causing it to be confusing to keep track of what is important and what is just an unwanted filler.

I continued to hold out hope for a solid development into all the plot twists thrown into the story that randomly appeared, it never happened. After closing the book, I struggled to get past how frequently the book Jumped to a different time and place within the same paragraph. Noting that without really acknowledging the skipped into the future my concentration broke several times.

To summarize, the book is an aggressive romance that develops extremely fast while also supplying the reader with a bunch of confusing turns and twists taking away from the main storyline. While, set to tell a story about two lifelong ‘friends’ that get drunk and sleep together while also confessing their love for one another five years ago RIGHT after Aria’s ‘devastating’ break up. There also seems to be a high quantity of unexpected gaps that leave readers with great deal of unanswered questions not to mention a recurring theme describing how awful and spiteful everyone is to each other. Aria and Justin are so frantic for one another that all they do is try to fight and annoy each other, which is supposed to explain why they are so deeply in love and cannot live without one another? Their relationship fits somewhere in between passionately crazy and bondage without the tying up. It seems more like a very detailed outline of what the book is supposed to be when completed.

Told from Aria’s point of view, the story is written in a way that someone would imagine a person with a short attention span would explain an extremely long drawn out situation. One minute we are worried about her cousin and her cousin’s husband, then about Aria’s sister sharing some news, in addition to Aria’s dress being made by more than just a designer, why not insert more craziness with Aria and her family, a bunch of crazy belligerent jealousy, throw in the whole wedding party getting into a fight; every one of these vague (as to not give away spoilers) twists happen within just a couple of chapters. As the story becomes more all sporadic, you start to think you have lost focus and go back to read the paragraph over again only to discover you made no mistake there is a huge lack in transition.
