Do you believe in reincarnation? Do you believe that someone you loved in another life could become an integral part of your new life? Yesterday written by SAMMYANNi is a story of love, loss and memory regained.

Amanda Parker, the female lead in the book, believes she must resign herself to being alone. She has endured several failed relationships and is beginning to think she is destined to be the "cat lady". The book opens up with Amanda talking with her cat about therapy she is taking. The next day she is out walking and somehow seems to sense some tragedy is about to happen. as she is admiring the horses that two police officers were riding she notices the train is about to jump the tracks right on top of one of the officers. Things begin to move in slow motion and summoning strength she didn't know she had she drags the officer out of harms way. When she fell to the ground she hit her head and knocked herself out. When she fluttered her eyes Mark Callahan, the policeman, looked into her eyes and thought was I know her but how. Amanda sees an antique clock that draws her attention as her eyes cloud over and she passes out.

The book continues with Mark and Amanda becoming more connected through regression therapy. Amanda does most of the sessions because she feels the intense need to find out how she and Mark are connected. She relives a past life of hardship that finds her in the deep south during the civil war and in Chicago at the time of the great fire. Through this she and Mark work on their present day relationship with its ups and downs.Amanda also researches her connection to the antique clock she saw at the train accident.

The book was entertaining and kept me interested during the time I was reading it. It made me think about the subject of reincarnation, and although I do not personally believe in reincarnation, the book was persuasive. The book did leave out some of the backstory of the main characters that might have been a little helpful to the reader. There was also lack of development of the supporting characters that would have been useful to the story.

I really enjoyed this book, the fluidity the author between the present and past lives was very easy to follow. there was no question if she was talking about Amanda or Bonnie, the young girl she was in her other life.I did however feel like the ending was rushed. It was almost like the author was just ready for it to end and had difficulty wrapping it up.

I would give this book 3 out of 4 stars. i gave it a 3 because I would encourage others to read it and may even read it again myself. The book was a good combination of past and present and really drew me in. Amanda and Mark were believable characters and had you rooting for them from the time they met.
