I love the concept of My Trip to Adele. As a music lover I am always intrigued by stories woven into songs. This book takes that concept into a different direction by telling multiple stories and weaving in the music of Adele that connects them. Though the characters are set in separate world locations, they are all tied together with the lyrics of songs. I rate this book 4 out of 4. It was both intriguing and educational.

Previously I have only been a casual listener of Adele, but I found myself searching her catalog and playing the songs from the book. It added an extra dimension to reading, and gave me a better appreciation of the characters and their situations. I was delighted to find this added bonus to my passion for reading good books and found a greater appreciation for Adele's music. Those songs will now remind me of these characters. Well Done!

Elias, Yaser and Nadia, the main characters, are all facing various crossroads in their lives. Elias, in Rome, Yaser in Las Vegas, and Nadia in Jordan. Some of their life cultures were unfamiliar to me, but the authors did a great job of giving enough information to make it relevant to a reader from any culture. I enjoyed the alternating chapters on each character and their progress towards resolution of their dilemma. Each one sees hope in an upcoming concert by Adele and reflects on how her music has been a soundtrack in their pasts.

Their stories go back into their pasts to explain how they came to their current situation. Elias hopes to recapture an old love. Yaser is on the brink of a broken marriage; yet remembers the love he and his wife had and he wants them to have again. Nadia is a divorced mother struggling to build a meaningful life with her child. The songs of Adele relate to all these life situations and give these characters hope that happiness can be restored.

Tension builds as the concert gets closer. Elias, Yaser and Nadia face conflicts on the road to Adele. Their various endings are unique to the character. Paths are unexpectedly changed. As in real life, things don't always turn out perfectly. But our friends do find their own resolutions and come to understand that love conquers all. Overall a satisfying read on the human condition in our world today. Good Book!

This was a great review. I loved this book as well and think that the lyrics were placed throughout the book with such perfection! I love Adele's music as well and each song lyric seemed to match the situation. I found myself listening to the rest of each song and was amazed that not only did the lyrics she chose to use match, but the song in its entirety did as well and gave the book a whole new layer! Well done!
